Tumbakin: The Explosive Saturday Main Event
Straight from the lineage of Pupy y los que Son Son and curated for the world’s elite dancers by Fredy Clan, Tumbakin brings the raw, authentic sound of Havana to Crazy 4 la Timba. With Alberto Muguercia on the drums and Alcibiades Durruthy on the mic, this isn’t just a concert—it’s the reason we dance.
Meet the Maestros
Alcibiades Durruthy
The Voice of the Street. A true heavyweight of the Cuban vocal scene, Alcibiades spent a decade as a lead singer for Pupy y los que Son Son, where his powerful, gritty voice defined an era of Timba. After relocating to Barcelona, his path crossed with Alberto’s once again. With a stage presence that commands the entire floor and a vocal range that can handle everything from soulful rumba to aggressive street-style Timba, he is widely regarded as one of the most charismatic soneros in the world today.
Alberto Muguercia (Albertico)
The Pulse of the Band. Before founding Tumbakin, Alberto was the backbone of one of Cuba’s most legendary orchestras, Pupy y los que Son Son. As the nephew of the iconic Pupy Pedroso, music is in his blood. After years of touring the world and recording definitive Timba hits, Alberto made the move to Barcelona to bring a fresh, authentic “Havana sound” to Europe. His technical precision on the timbales and his vision for a hard-hitting, modern ensemble are what give Tumbakin its relentless drive and unmistakable “sabor.”
The Creative Spark: The Fredy Clan Connection
Tumbakin wasn’t just born; it was engineered for the dance floor. The project truly took shape with the vital collaboration of the world-renowned dancer and choreographer Fredy Clan. Recognizing the chemistry between Alberto and Alcibiades, Fredy helped bridge the gap between the music and the dancers, ensuring that every arrangement was optimized for the “Goza” of the dancers. This trio’s shared history and creative synergy are the reason Tumbakin has become the “must-have” band for every major European festival.
